The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab

The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto integrates theory and practice by providing a focal point for research and training in a range of financial disciplines, including investment strategy and portfolio management, financial engineering and risk management, analyses of the microstructure of markets and trading, as well as other financial decision-making disciplines. Our mandate is: 1) To enhance the Rotman School’s teaching and training by providing students with access to the global financial community and its resources in a real-time setting; 2) To contribute to the integration of theory and practice by delivering a hands-on experience to users to enhance the global competitiveness of our students and our School; 3) To become an innovator in new curriculum development, business initiatives, software development and other activities of value to the Rotman School and business communities; 4) To provide a focal point for research and training in a range of financial disciplines, including investment strategy and portfolio management; financial engineering and risk management; trading and analysis of the microstructure of markets.
